Who we are
Skill and Earn (https://skillandlearn.online) is an online learning platform. We offer courses for CBSE Class 11 and 12 students, and job-ready skill courses in Artificial Intelligence (AI), TallyPrime 7.2, Advanced Excel and Python.
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it and how we protect it. We handle personal data in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Information we collect
When you register as a student, we collect your first name, last name, username, email address and password. The password is stored in encrypted form and we never see it.
When you register as a faculty member (instructor), we collect the same details, plus any profile information you choose to add.
When you buy a course, we collect your billing details: name, email, phone number and billing address. Payments are processed securely by Razorpay. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details.
While you study, we record your learning activity so the courses work properly. This includes the courses you are enrolled in, lessons completed, quiz and assignment results, and certificates earned.
Technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, is collected automatically to keep the site secure and prevent misuse.
How we use your information
We use your information only to:
-
create and manage your account
-
give you access to the courses you have enrolled in or purchased
-
track your progress and issue certificates
-
process payments and send order confirmations and invoices
-
reply to your questions and support requests
-
send important updates about your courses or account
-
keep the website secure and prevent fraud
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone.
Students under 18
Many of our CBSE Class 11 and 12 students are under 18. Under Indian law, a parent or legal guardian must give consent before we process a minor’s personal data.
-
If you are under 18, please register and buy courses only with your parent’s or guardian’s knowledge and consent.
-
We do not use students’ data for targeted advertising or behavioural tracking.
-
A parent or guardian can contact us at any time to see, correct or delete their child’s information.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the information in the comment form, plus the visitor’s IP address and browser details, to help detect spam.
An anonymised string created from your email address (called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. Gravatar’s privacy policy is at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public next to your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website (for example, a profile photo or an assignment), avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can download those images and extract the location data from them.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use them only to make the website work properly.
-
Login cookies keep you signed in. They last for two days, or two weeks if you tick “Keep me signed in”. They are removed when you log out.
-
Cart and checkout cookies remember the courses in your cart while you complete a purchase.
-
Comment cookies: if you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name and email so you don’t have to type them again. These last for one year.
-
A temporary test cookie is set on the login page to check that your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.
Embedded content from other websites
Some lessons may include embedded content, such as YouTube videos. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website directly. Those websites may collect data about you, use cookies and track your interaction with the content, especially if you are logged in to an account with them.
Who we share your data with
We share your information only with the trusted services needed to run this website:
-
Razorpay, to process payments securely
-
Hostinger, our web hosting provider, which stores the website and its data
-

How long we keep your data
-

-
Order and invoice records are kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting laws (such as GST) require, even if you delete your account.
-
Comments and their details are kept indefinitely, so follow-up comments can be approved automatically.
